Who is Mr. Nobuddy?

I was born in the Olympic peninsula town of Sequim [skwim], Washington in 1963, and graduated from Sequim High School in 1981. Raising 5 children, my parents struggled to get ahead in life. What we had, we made from the materials available to us. Luxuries were scarce, but my parents gave us what we needed to get by.

I've always loved music, but I was so involved in sports earlier in life, I didn't have time to pursue it. As I got older, I started a family of my own, and that took precedence over everything else. At the age of 40, I was introduced to some guitar-playing cowboys from Wyoming. The wife of one of them handed me a harmonica and said that if I'm gonna hang around, I needed to learn to play! I practiced almost nonstop for the next year until I found out you had to have the correct key of harmonica in order to play certain songs; so off I went!

Shortly afterward, I joined a band known as Moulten JESS. We got pretty tight after playing every Friday and Saturday night for the next year. We ended up entering into a country music contest where we were runners up from a win that would've allowed us to play the Riemann Theater in Nashville, TN and $100,000! It turns out the winner had the same amount of points as us, but 1 point was deducted from our score because we played for too long.

I feel the most compelling reason I write music is for the therapy; especially after losing loved ones in my life. Every time I play these songs I feel like they're alive again. Originally, none of these songs were intended for anyone else to hear, but as I played them for others I started to see the connection people had with them. I gonna keep doing what I love! I hope you have a listen, and can relate to some of my tunes.
